Choices, choices

So its time to make some choices, I have to chooses which 3 of the modules I am going to take.

for term 1 my choices are:

Design and Analysis of Parallel Algorithms

Computer Networking

Web Programming

Applied Databases

Tools and Techniques

Applied Numeric Algorithms

Computing with Distributed Resources

BioInformatics 1

Well, obviously I've done a whole bunch of web and database programming using proper tools Wink and have built some large scale network systems over my twenty years of networking. Biology, er what?!?! [Actually by avoiding Bio stuff then that clears friday afternoons term 1 and the whole of wednesday term 2 Smile].

So I think Im heading for a hard core HPC diet of algorithims, analysis and perhaps some distributed computing.

I have to make term 2 choices soon as well so I will write that up later.

The full list of modules can be found at the MSc site int he student handbook : http://www.epcc.ed.ac.uk/msc/

Initial posting of new blog

So this is a clean install of BlogEngine to see how usefull it is. I also intend to integrate a wiki into this site whe I get half a chance.

That though is not not going to be easy, I am going back to Uni to do a MSc in High Performance Computing (http://www.epcc.ed.ac.uk/msc/).

YIKES! Undecided
